Dear Sir

Many thanks for yr kind favor of the 1st inst. [instant] & for the agreable contents. I shall take care of the Stirling History when I get to London. about the 15th of next month direct to me No 12 vere street oxford road; & do not mind franks.

I am happy to have sent you an account of Mr Low. who wrote to me in good spirits. You had my answer to his Letter last week.

The Banchorie antiquities are not explicit enough but I hope somebody will give a fuller account & also of the medals.

I have kept every magazine I had of 1773. but some are wanting. I think I had best have them from the editor all bound; if he will be so good as to take the others, which I will leave where he orders in London. I declare I lost none: but what are missing were missent. I will pay any difference

Is it possible to get a drawing in Indian ink of cardinal Beaton whose portrait is in Holyrood house.1 I wish it to be well done & exactly the size of my admirable Crichton. So extraordinary a personage merits to be engraven. & it never was.

I have lately seen Mr Falconer who requests to be remembered to you. I am now at a friend’s an M.P so inclose Two cancels to my Two volumes.2 By the pages you will soon find their places.

I am, Dear Sir, yr most obedt Servt

Tho. Pennant

Nov. 15th 1774.

Pray ask some Erse critic what is Shi an is it not fairies houses. You may inclose yr next to Sir Roger; after that write to London. I send but two of the cancels this time all being over weight.
