Many thanks for y^r kind favor of the 1^st inst. [instant] & for the agreable contents. I shall take care of the Stirling History when I get to London. about the 15^th of next month direct to me N^o 12 vere street oxford road; & do not mind franks.

I am happy to have sent you an account of M^r Low. who wrote to me in good spirits. You had my answer to his Letter last week.

The Banchorie antiquities are not explicit enough but I hope somebody will give a fuller account & also of the medals.

I have kept every magazine I had of 1773. but some are wanting. I think I had best have them from the editor all bound; if he will be so good as to take the others, which I will leave where he orders in London. I declare I lost none: but what are missing were missent. I will pay any difference

Is it possible to get a drawing in Indian ink of cardinal Beaton whose portrait is in Holyrood house.¹ I wish it to be well done & exactly the size of my admirable Crichton. So extraordinary a personage merits to be engraven. & it never was.

I have lately seen M^r Falconer who requests to be remembered to you. I am now at a friend’s an M.P so inclose Two cancels to my Two volumes.² By the pages you will soon find their places.
