Dear Sir

Your kind Letter came safe. for the future you may inclose as usual. I heard from Mr Low & hope soon he will be so comfortably settled as to have leisure to enjoy himself & proceed in his works. Be so good as to forward to him the inclosed. also the card to Mr Macgovan.

I have every half year a polite promissory Letter from Doctor Blinshall of Dundee giving me hopes of a full account of his Town; but I find no effect. I am sorry such a fine city should go unsung therefore wish much to have these queries answered. It is cruel all this trouble should rest on you: but I am deserted by two people that common gratitude shd have made adhere to me.

Be so good as to watch the sales of books in yr city. If the History of Renfrewshire should cast up, pray buy it. I know it to be dear but do not mind that. I also wish for Moyse’s memoirs. I go on very fast with my M.S. & shall very soon go to the press.1

I am with sincere regard
Dear Sir
yr most obedt Servt

Editorial notes

1. Pennant is likely referring to progress on his Tour in Scotland 1772 Part II, which would be published in 1776.
