With great Grief I say our parcel from moses came to Town the 22d. & is stolen from the coach office.1 I shall sue the owners a poor recompence but want to see you to consult about method. shd I advertise.

1. Cf. another example of a loss of property documented by the reference to a suit against the Chester coach to which Pennant refers in 1086, dated 19 May 1789.
2. The year [17]86 was probably added at a later date by Richard Bull. Pennant's reference to a delay in his intended arrival in London in 1053, 4 March 1786, suggests that his London visit did not take place as early as January during 1786. The year 1785 is suggested instead as a possible date in view of the evidence of Pennant's movements provided by the Pennant-Bull correspondence as a whole.
