Dear Sir

I cannot express sufficiently the joy I feel at the good news you send respecting Dr Ramsay whom I truely value. I wait impatiently for a letter from him. I now promote & patronise as far as the evil times will permit, a work relative to yr country, a tour undertaken three years ago at my expence intended as supplemental to my own & to be illustrated with beautiful plates; of which I mean to send you specimens.1

Have you yet got Mr Low’s M.S. which I sent so long ago to Mr Cadel. I shall be much grieved if it should miscarry.

I last winter in consideration of White’s large family & my long connection made up matters with him but I have just discovered in him such audacious misconduct that merits due punishment. more of this a few months hence.

I rest Dr Sir
faithfully yrs

T Pennant.
