Dear Sir

Your kind Letter reached me here safely. I thank Mr Elliot for his kind present which I suppose (owing to the times is not yet arrived. I have got one of Mr Lows best drawings new done by a skilful hand & given it to an engraver & will send him proofs as soon as finished. I hope in time to get him information about the brass things. If he goes over the same ground, he must incorporate his new information with the old. I sent his nat. history to Mr Cadel; & hope Mr Gough has taken like care of the journal. If you write again, to me here it must be by return of post, for I quit town very soon. I had only a glimpse of Mr Gough, for by unlucky coincidence of engagements we cannot see each other.

I remain Dr Sir
faithfully yrs

Tho. Pennant
