Dear Sir

Many thanks for yr Letter of octr 26th. Barbour will be acceptable in any form: the little edition may come piece meal & beg the favor of Mr Jackson to frank it.

Let me beg you wd enquire if Gordon’s maps in Blaeu’s atlas is to be had & at what price. I mean the edition of 1662 with melvin’s topographie in it.

Also sacheverels voy. to Iona a small octvo.

Mr Low had best keep his materials till he has completed his collection. I urge him to visit every isle personally: & shall soon send him a sketch of the Imber

I imagine Doctor Ramsay will not be worse for the loss of his father who I hear was a strange fellow.

yr 2d favor is just come. & many thanks for the sheet which I rejoice to see. Whatever else you send will be most welcome.
