Dear Sir
May this find you better than I am at present. A few days ago I was visited with a sullen fit of the gout attended by a great swelling in one leg. I should have been better pleased had it shewen a degree of angry symptoms which generally are productive of better health. As I do not admire my mill post I apply for its reduction to my favorite Foxglove which already shews its good effects.
I hope you received the most essential part of the letter press & instructions about farther completion as to the drawings I am sorry I made. Be so good as to give me the explanation of a print given me many years ago by our old friend the Dutchess of Portland It is of a strange figure of an old man ½ length in in oval. on his head a vast flapped woman’s hat, & a long flowing perriwig curling in ringlets. His hands clasped. above is his cypher

It is a coarse engraver & no artists name. I almost think that her Grace said his name was Kenrick.
