Dear Sir
Lichfield June 3d. 1796.
I left Downing on Saturday last, but neither hotpressed Whiteford or letter had then arrived. my fears make me augur something amiss: but I trust that nothing materially amiss has befel miss Bull or yourself. I am in a train of visit. shall stay two nights at a friend’s near Leatherhead,1 and conclude at the primary object of our journey, a near relation of Mrs Pennant at East malling – on the 13th. I shall make a short visit to my Sister in upper Grosvenour street. a line sent there on the evening of that day will give me pleasure if it brings news of your welfare. I hope to contrive to find an hour to pass with you. my stay will not exceed four days & those will be in full employ. every good wish attend miss Bull & yourself.
Adieu
Dear Sir
Yrs most truely
