Dear Sir

excuse this quick succession of letters. I find I have mislaid yr acct of the lighthouses of the isle of wight. Be so good by(as soon as possible to send me the copy of what you said. Let me also ask if there is any inscription on the Pr. Elizabeth in Newport church: or any notice in the register: how came she into the island & where did she reside.1

These only are wanted to complete my tour of the delicious spot.

with best wishes
Adieu

Yrs most truely

Editorial notes

1. For Bull's response to these questions, see 1171.
2. In Richard Bull's hand.
3. In pencil.
4. It unlikely that Bull's frank was provided by Philip Yorke of Erddig, who had ceased being an MP in 1792. His son, Simon, represented Grantham from 7 January 1793, and may have been known to Bull.
5. The address is written in the franker's hand.
