Dear Sir

I could not answer your letter sooner, repecting the Patna Drawings, because Monsr. Allen, Le Chevalier de Malt, who buys en Prince,1 had desir'd to purchase them of me at a price much beyond my hopes, and I promiss'd to treat with him, provided he determin’d by a certain day. That day expir’d yesterday, and He has not been here, so all negotiation shall cease on my part, and I now am at liberty to offer two of them to you as a gift, not as a purchaser; – you must not think of that on any account. I will seal them up, and send them to Sir Roger Moystin's this day, and if he is out of town, I will then send them to your sisters. Farthur [sic] this deponent says not, being in the middle of packing off for Brighthelmston,

but alway yours sincerely

R. B. -
