Dec^r. 8. 1789 Stratton Street

My dear Sir.

Have the goodness to excuse the haste, I write in, and to forgive the unavoidable postage you must pay, not having been arriv’d in town long enough to know where to find a member to frank it. I found on my table the two Maps on India paper,¹ for which I give you very many thanks, but I did not know M^r Pennant brought them, or that he was in London, till Grose told me so just now, and I think he said he was in upper Brook Street, where I shall endeavor to find him to morrow, and give him the receit from Goslin, for the £20, I paid him this morning to your account.

I shall be glad to have the Drawings as soon as you can send them, with any safety, and convenience, and I think they had better be enter’d at the coach office, to their value, which will be a security to the proprietor and ensure their safety. I go out of town to morrow to Sir Will^m Burrell's for some little time, but I will endeavor to see M^rPennat [sic], first.
