Downing May 26th 1782
Dear Sir
Inclosed is an order for the L. P. prints of the journey to London. the letter press is on its road to this place & shall be done for you with all dispatch. You may depend on yr Snowdon's reaching stratton street in five weeks, also above eight views in Chester.1
Let me congratulate you on the good news which I hope will be a strong persuasion to peace with our inveterate enemies.2 It inspirits every body as it flatters us that the scale is turning in our favor. We are rather shocked at the national ingratitude
oin the recall of Rodney3
who had before done so much for us & given some lustre to our tarnished flag. An engraver sent me some political prints; but so stupid that I must send them to their proper place. I hear of a
Dame Rat & her little ones. if the last does not exceed 1s. pray favor me with it. My best
Complimts attend
