Dear Sir

Excuse me for Troubling you soon; but it is to beg that in case opportunity offers by a private hand that you would send 4 of my Genera of birds directed to me at Mr Longman’s bookseller pater noster row. the case is I wish to have a few to send to foreign friends. The rest may go at leisure.

If you have Mr Pope’s M.S. pray return it to him with my thanks. I lent it to Mr Cordiner who has made some extracts from it with proper acknowledgements but it cost him a deal of Labor.1

I do not care how many of the Genera are sent hereafter by private hands by 2 or 3 in a parcel.

This moment yr favour is come I shall desire Mr Longman or somebody to call for the parcel at Mr Cadels. the M.S. from Dr R[...] will be most welcome.
