Dear Sirre

Yr three favors met me here. my best thanks for them. was you to know the rapacity, the circumvention of mankind even about these matters not indeed of the first moment, you wd not be amazed at my caution. I have full confidence in you. I do not chuse to apply to Mr Gough.

I rejoice at Mr Low’s recovery: & at the arrival of his M.S. I inclose a line to him: which please to forward. I beg my best complimts to Mr Panton. & MrLaw. and some prints welcome to the last. also to Mr Sympson I (think). I mean the Gentleman who sent the drawings to.

Pray to what work does the folio sheet of the Macgregors belong to?1

I shall do no more abt that clan than barely refer to the authorities of yr acts of parlement.

Mr Low may mention anything historically but witht entering into one party or other. Let him avoid controversy.

Thanks for Mr Freebairns sketches. Where is he now?

I am Dear Sir
affectly & truely yrs
