Dear Sir
I received the two parcels here & am much obliged to you for Dalrymple. I see still that my only mistake was giving the name of Elizabeth to Robert’s mistress. The surname was still more or morham. & nothing Dalrymple advances will save Ld Bute’s ancestor from being the Son of a Wh—.
I miss moyse’s memoirs in the parcel. Pray describe to me the front of the new episcopal chapel at Edinburgh. are there Pillars or Pilasters in front? if the first I suppose them insulated & form a Portico. is there an organ; painting above altar & what subject?
Pray is the account of the clans by Buchanan esteemed among you quite authentic?
I rejoice that Mr Shaws book is so near its appearance.
I stay here only a few days, being brought here in attending my children to school after their holydays. inclose as usual.
