Dear Sir

My best thanks for two favors. I am happy you got the books & shall be happier if they meet approbation. never trouble yrself about the bird which I presume to be no other than my Manks Petrel. Be so good as to send both the inclosed to Doctor Ramsay. Should you meet Mr Macgovan be so good as to present my compliments & let him know how glad I should be to have a drawing of his little image, which you may inclose to me I wish to know where it was found.

I think I heard an instance of a coach [...] pannels being broke by yr Heralds [...]r assuming wrong arms. I wish you [...]ould furnish me with the year it was done. also on what occasion & to whose coach.

Yr third Letter with the agreable inclosure is this moment arrived.

I am, Dear Sir, yr most obedt Servt
