Mr Pennant’s complimts to Mr Paton wishes he could in a post or two send an account of the migration of woodcocks to & from the E. coasts such as Angus Merns & Aberdeenshire, the times of coming & departing & Whether they are numerous.
Such may be picked up from natives of those counties now in Edinburgh. it is needless to write to any. Box of ores is arrived at last. Mr Ruddiman sends me no indexes
